  • Passing of State Game Warden Kris Krebs
    Posted On: Mar 15, 2024

Kristoffer A. “Kris” Krebs, 46, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Angela (Fryer) Krebs.  Born December 17, 1977, in Palmerton, he was the son of Bonnie (Kreiser) Krebs and the late Vincent Krebs, Jr.  Kris was a 1995 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s in geology and environmental science from Shippensburg University.  A proud graduate of the 26th class of the Ross Leffler School of Conservation, Kris's journey was one of passion and commitment. From his early days earning the title of Eagle Scout to interning with the PA Game Commission, he was inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world around him. This inspiration fueled his aspiration, and with determination and zeal, he achieved his dream of becoming a Law Enforcement Supervisor for the PA Game Commission. His career was more than a profession; it was a calling that he embraced with his entire being. Kris dedicated his life to the stewardship of Pennsylvania's natural resources. Beyond his professional achievements, Kris's character shone brightly in every facet of his life. His kindness touched the lives of all who knew him, human and animal alike. His love radiated through his smile, his laughter, large personality and he brought warmth to every room. He was a man dedicated to anything he was involved in, but above all, he was dedicated to his family. A loving husband and proud father, often taking his family on fishing vacations to Canada and Maine. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed YouTube concerts, and could be found spending time with his friends and hunting.

Kris recently attended the Church of the Resurrection and grew up as an altar server at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe. He was also a member of the Consolidated Sportsmen.  In addition to his wife and mother, Kris is survived by two daughters, Rebeka and Danika Krebs; two siblings, Vanessa Krebs (Alan Tilyard), of Hong Kong, and Michael Krebs (Sarah), of Granger, IN; three nephews, Reed, Cameron, and Sullivan; his maternal grandfather, Delroy Kreiser, of Lehighton; a paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Krebs, of Jim Thorpe; and his mother and father-in-law, David and Linda Fryer of State College.  Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Joan Kreiser; and a paternal grandfather, Vincent Krebs, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Kris’ life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 18 at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Ln., Muncy, PA 17756. The family will receive friends from 2- 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
